Our family has made many summer visits to Minnesota...and especially to the Twin Cities. Most times we've stayed in Minneapolis or near the Mall of America. This year we decided to bring the family and explore St. Paul during winter break. We missed all the festivals that have made St. Paul famous...like the winter carnival...but made a list of all we could see and do with the kids.
Thanks Visit Minnesota for your great travel advice for the area!
I think we all agreed that our favorite activity was visiting the Science Museum. We went back a couple times...too much to see all at once. The kids also loved the Children's Museum.
Como Zoo was on the list so we greeted the animals there. We didn't know about the conservatory that is on the zoo grounds until we got to the zoo. At first the children did not want to go in but once persuaded they loved it! We could hardly get them to leave. What a wonderful place to inhale the scent of flowers in the middle of winter.
My wife and I chose the History Center as our favorite attraction. We thought the kids might be bored...they weren't.
One attraction we didn't know about until we asked the locals what we should see was the model train museum. What fun! We could hardly get our son to leave. (Our daughter liked it as well.)
We were looking for some great shopping and thought about a trek out to the big mall. Someone suggested we check out the shops on Grand Avenue. What a find!
There is no end of great restaurants in St. Paul. And we've decided we want to come back in summer to check out the outdoor things to do. Maybe take a riverboat tour. Who knows?
Kudos to St. Paul!!!
