Best Golf Courses In Minnesota - Top 3

Three golf courses in Minnesota are ranked by Golf Digest among the "100 Greatest Public Courses in America." These courses are:

  • The Quarry at Giants Ridge - From the Giants Ridge website - "The Quarry was built on the site of an old sand and gravel mining operation, and is now the #1 public golf course in Minnesota, according to Golf Digest. Since its opening, it has been ranked in the top 20 public courses in the United States every year it has been eligible. It is truly a unique experience for Minnesota golfers, and one that compliments the traditional feel of the Legend course."
  • The Wilderness at Fortune Bay - "The Wilderness at Fortune Bay is Minnesota's premier resort golf destination located on beautiful Lake Vermilion. The Wilderness is consistently ranked one of the best golf courses in Minnesota and the country by national golf publications. For 2017/2018, Golf Digest rated The Wilderness #2 public golf course in Minnesota! Plus, Golfweek rated us #42 for Best Resort Courses in the nation this past season. Come visit the best lakeside and resort course in Minnesota!"
  • The Classic at Madden's - "The Classic is a rare course in the Midwest where caddies are available. Famous for its many bridges, The Classic feels like a maze of wetlands and ponds. The one par 3 that doesn't feature water might be the toughest. The two signature holes are the par 4s at no. 3 and no. 11, two holes where aiming left off the tee is the only way to survive. The Classic is the only major course architect/course superintendent Scott Miller has ever designed. A great one-hit wonder!"
