First North Shore Trip of the Year
I'm excited to be packing for our first trip to the North Shore of Lake Superior for this summer. We did attend a family event in Duluth a couple of weeks ago however did not get to explore much.
We hope you will enjoy our recently published ebook about Minnesota State Parks. You can download a copy here: Minnesota State Parks: From Afton to Zippel Bay
Our June trips are always special because we plan them for our anniversary weekend and return to some of our favorite spots every year.
We also love to check out some new things each time. It's getting harder to find "new" things to do after all these years. A side trip to Ely is on the agenda this time. We know of a wonderful steak house there and that is where we plan to have our anniversary meal.
We have a favorite cabin near Two Harbors. Since we don't own a cabin of our own, we've made this "our place" over the years. Whenever we go, we schedule ahead for the next year. Cabins and resorts along the North Shore fill up rapidly so we try to stay ahead of the game.
Visiting some of the beautiful state parks along the shore is always part of the plan. Gooseberry Falls is closest to "our" cabin but we'll likely explore several others as well. Then we'll take our beach blanket out onto the shore of the great lake and spend some time digging through the rocks looking for agates.
We'll let the rest of the days unfold as we get up each morning and decide
which way the roads should take us.
I'll report back with some new photos and travel stories in a week or two. I hope you are making your plans for your next visit to your favorite vacation spots in Minnesota.
