Two Harbors 'SirGetaway'

My wife and I recently had a great time in Two Harbors, and we plan to come back in the summer.

My friends own a place up there nicknamed 'Sir Getaway' (they set up a web page about it at www.sirgetaway.com) and it's a very nice, 2-bedroom, top-floor penthouse suite overlooking Lake Superior. It has a fireplace, offers great views of the lake, and is in a facility with an indoor swimming pool, indoor/outdoor hot tub, sauna, fitness center and restaurant. There’s also a one-bedroom suite available offering the same view and amenities, but we wanted the space the other unit offered.

We were really happy about how easy and fast it is to get there. Unlike Lutsen or other places along the North Shore, this is really close. And we were happy we could go cross country skiing practically right out the door. (I tried to talk her into snowmobiling – there are trails right out the door, too, -- but she wouldn’t go for it. Maybe someday!)

Anyways, I just wanted to share this with you. It was a nice, warm place in a beautiful place in Minnesota with plenty of nearby restaurants, and a nice proximity to a major city (Duluth is about a half an hour south).
