Romantic Getaway on Lake Superior North Shore

We love the natural beauty of Minnesota and especially the North Shore of Lake Superior. We live in southern MN and every year without fail rent a cabin on the north shore for a week together.

We've stayed in a log cabin right on the shore, a luxury resort near Lutsen, a bed and breakfast near Two Harbors and a hotel in Grand Marais...some of them several times. It would be hard to choose a favorite.

We like to walk along the beach, stay up late to watch the moon come up and the stars pop out. There are so many great restaurants, nice coffee shops, gift shops, etc. that it's easy to fill each day with "touristy stuff" then come back to a cozy cabin at night.

Just driving along the shore and stopping at the well known North Shore spots like Gooseberry Falls or Split Rock Lighthouse is another pleasure.

There are also quite a few really nice restaurants along the shore if you want to celebrate with a romantic dinner.
