Minneapolis Minnesota
I lived in Minneapolis Minnesota as a very young child. We lived in South Minneapolis while my father was attending seminary. My grandma lived not far away on the border of Powderhorn Park. She worked for years for the Burma~Shave company. I have wonderful memories of walking to her house with my parents and little brother.
My school years began at Corcoran school and I had the same kindergarten teacher my father had more than 20 years earlier. Though we now live in Saint Paul, I still consider Minneapolis to be one of my many "home towns."
Minneapolis, nicknamed "the City of Lakes," is situated on both banks of the Mississippi River and is the largest city in Minnesota. The name is attributed to the city's first schoolmaster, who combined mni, the Dakota word for water, and polis, the Greek word for city.
