Minneapolis Lake Calhoun

Minneapolis, nicknamed "the City of Lakes," is situated on both banks of the Mississippi River. The name is attributed to the city's first schoolmaster, who combined 'minne,' the Dakota word for water, and 'polis,' the Greek word for city.
