Middle Eastern Festival

by Submitted by:
(Paul Ablan)

St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in West St. Paul hosts its 5th Annual Middle Eastern Festival on July 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 2012.

Highlights of the festival include Middle Eastern cuisine, live entertainment, a traditional marketplace, a silent auction, games for children, and camel rides.

Admission to this family fun three-day event is FREE!

The menu includes: roast lamb, chicken kabobs, kafta, falafel, hummus, gyros, tabouli, homemade traditional pastries, and our famous Syrian bread. Beer, wine, and soft drinks will also be served.

The nationally renowned John Khoury Band will perform, in addition to the St. George Dabke Dance Troupe.

The festival is being held in conjunction with the church’s 99th anniversary as a parish. The times for the Middle Eastern Festival are Friday, July 20 from 12 noon to 10 pm; Saturday, July 21 from 12 noon to 10 pm; and Sunday, July 22 from 12 noon to 6 pm.

St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church is located in the heart of West St. Paul. Just minutes south of downtown St. Paul, the church is located at 1250 Oakdale Avenue, a few blocks east of the intersection of South Robert Street and Moreland Avenue.

Food, Family, and Fun!
by: Sophie

I attended this festival last year and had a wonderful time. It was fun to experience the beautiful Middle Eastern culture, not to mention the delicious food! I took my niece and nephew and they loved the camel rides and jumpers. I will definitely be going back all three days and advise others to do the same!

So much fun!
by: Anonymous

I have been to this festival the last two years. This is a beautiful weekend of Middle Eastern food, dancing, baked goods and most important; hospitality. The people working this festival truly love God through their culture.

Thank you to St. George Church for making each experience very entertaining and an enjoyable one for my family and I!

Looking forward to this Festival again this year!

In Christ,

Alex

Awesome !!!
by: Jimmy H

I have been to the Middle Eastern Festival in West St Paul for the last two years and it is awesome! The kids had fun on the rides and games and especially the camel rides.

The food was the best middle eastern food I have had anywhere in the twin cities. (even the restaurants). It is fresh and flavorful and prepared right in front of you.

A definite must attend, one of a kind festival.
