The lake itself is so vast that you are sure you are on the shores of a mighty ocean. At times the blue of the lake and the blue of the sky merge into one azure seascape. More frequently than in any other location I've known, a rainbow will arch across the sky above the lake. Minnesota vacations along the Lake Superior North Shore are some of the most popular among visitors to our state as well as Minnesota residents. Hundreds of our family photos feature our kids, and grandkids, climbing the wave splashed rocks at the edge of the great lake. Other photos show the entire family crawling along the shore, eyes down, looking for Lake Superior agates. For those prefer Duluth Minnesota vacations, your Lake Superior photos can be of the unique lift bridge in the harbor, the merchant ships from around the world as they enter the harbor under the lift bridge, the "tall ships" celebrations in summer and beautiful views of the lake from your hotel balcony in Canal Park.
