Harley Vacation in Minnesota
by: Visit Minnesota webmaster

Hi Kate,

Your Harley vacation sounds like such fun! I'm glad you plan to visit Minnesota. I'm going to point you to a page on our site that I think may give you at least a starting point. The page is our "Top Ten" family vacations page but has a comprehensive overview of all parts of our beautiful state.

Top Ten Family Vacations

Since you will arrive from the south, take a look at the destinations at the bottom of the "top ten" page first. You'll see some descriptions of, and links to, quite a few of our unique small towns and attractions in that part of the state.

I would also suggest you check out the descriptions and links to places in the St. Croix River Valley. Lots of bikers are out enjoying the scenery in this area every weekend during the spring, summer and fall. Again, you will find several unique small towns in this area including Taylors Falls and Stillwater.

You will see lakes everywhere you travel in Minnesota. The central part of the state...called the Central Lakes Area has hundreds of beautiful lakes and attractions that bring lots of visitors to the area every year.

If you have the time, don't miss the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior. You can follow the shoreline of this Great Lake all the way from Duluth to the Canadian border. You will see waterfalls there and as well some charming small towns like Two Harbors, Lutsen and Grand Marais.

I'll suggest to you, as I do to everyone, that you pack a copy of our favorite Minnesota travel guidebook so you'll have the "inside track" on all the best places to see, to eat and to stay.

Have a wonderful ride!
