Glendalough State Park Lodge

Glendalough Historic Lodge
We love this park! It was once a private resort and game farm owned by the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper. Glendalough's Historic Lodge has housed several former Presidents including Dwight D. Eisenhower and Richard Nixon and also former Vice President Walter Mondale.
Glendalough was officially declared a state park with a celebration on Earth Day, April 22, 1992
We like the canoe-in campground which offers a more primitive camping experience that some state parks have. Canoeing across Annie Battle Lake is such a peaceful experience as no motor boats are allowed here.
Other recreation at Glendalough State Park includes great fishing and swimming in the lakes.
