Garden Island State Park is the northernmost park in the Minnesota State Park system. It is an island located near the Canadian border 19 miles from the south shore of Lake of the Woods and Zipple Bay State Park in northern Minnesota. Some of Garden Island State Park's attractions include:

• Accessible only by boat; boat docks are available during the summer/fall seasons only.
• Remote and undevloped; quiet sandy beaches; dense woods; some marshy areas.
• Picnic tables where you may encounter people from fishing boats who have come ashore for lunch.
• Winter snowmobiling on Lake of the Woods.
• Look for shore birds, eagles, deer, bear, beaver, mink, otter, fox and snowshoe hare.
