Cities in Minnesota

The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul are the largest, and best known, cities in Minnesota. A visitor to Minnesota might consider a trip to this area as a "two for the price of one" bargain. Each city has it's own unique character, attractions and culture however one flows into the other and allows a trip plan that includes the best of both.

Saint Paul is considered the arts and culture capital of the midwest with world class theaters and museums, and a vibrant arts community. The city's warehouse district renovations have created the country’s largest concentration of live-in work space for studio artists.

Saint Paul has a rich literary history that includes Scott Fitzgerald and Garrison Keillor (whose show, A Prairie Home Companion, is housed in the Fitzgerald Theater). Sporting teams and venues showcase the Saint Paul Saints, the Minnesota Wild and more.

Minneapolis, the City of Lakes, has abundant water resources in its lakes, wetlands, Mississippi riverfront, creeks and waterfalls. Many are connected by parkways in the Chain of Lakes and the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway.

The city of Minneapolis is also a major center of art and culture with the Walker Art Center, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Guthrie Theater, the Orpheum, and the Children's Theatre Company to name just a few.

Major sports teams also call Minneapolis home: The Minnesota Vikings, the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Lynx WNBA team, and the Golden Gophers football and baseball teams.
