Minnesota's Coolest City

In the middle of a record heat wave, we’re getting ready to head for Minnesota’s “naturally air conditioned city” of Duluth. At least once every summer we spend a few days in our favorite cabin on the North Shore of Lake Superior between Duluth and Two Harbors. We feel very fortunate when our scheduled Duluth vacations take us away just when the worst of the summer heat arrives.

When a heat wave hits we’ve been known to get up in the morning and decide that a day trip to Duluth is the best way to spend the day. From our home in the Twin Cities, we can be there in under three hours, spend the day enjoying the cool breeze along the shore, and return home, refreshed, in time for bed.

If you are planning a romantic getaway this year, see some recommendations for romantic Duluth vacations. And, before you head out for Duluth, get some tips about where to stay, what to do, and the best places to eat. Read what others say about Duluth vacations.

If you have questions for us you can ask them, and get answers, at our Online Vacation Planning page.

As we travel around Minnesota, we hope to see you!
