Minnesota Visitor, Issue #37 - Taylors Falls and Interstate State Park

Taylor Falls offers spectacular natural scenery and historic architecture. The town was founded by two wealthy lumber speculators - Benjamin Baker and Jesse Taylor. (who gave his name to the town.) In 1886 the longest logjam in Minnesota stretched for seven miles along the river.

The town is now a charming vacation or getaway destination. Taylor Falls and the surrounding area makes a perfect short day trip from the Twin Cities.

Explore Interstate State Park (right in town), and see the famous potholes, take a riverboat trip, and visit Franconia Sculpture Park.

The Wild Mountain Recreation Area is nearby.
